Home School Liaison Manager
Hello, my name is Kim Parry and I am your Home School Liaison Manager here at Vigo Primary School.
Family life can be challenging from time to time, and we recognise the affect this can have on our children as well as our parents. It’s my role in school to provide support, advice and information to families to make sure that all our children are successful, happy and secure both at home and in school.
Typical issues parents/carers ask me for advice around are:
- Behaviour
- Sleep
- Mental Wellbeing
- Finances
- Accessing and signposting to local services
- Sibling rivalry
- Lack of family/friendship networks when new to an area
- School transition
- Confidence building
- School holiday activities
I may not have all the answers but by working closely with other organisations such as
- Family Support Service
- School Nursing Team
- Young Carers
- Foodbank
- Community Pantry
- Spotlight UK
I will certainly help you find out who can.
Support is flexible, there is no time limit and there are a number of ways support can be delivered such as:
- One to one meeting’s in school or at home
- Offering practical strategies to improve behaviour and relationships
- Referring and signposting to local services
- Access to parenting courses
- Catch up by text, email or phone
