Year 5
Welcome to Year 5
Year 5 is led by Mr Cooper (Costa Rica Class Teacher) alongside the Year 5 team. The Year 5 team includes Mrs Woodward (Jamaica Class Teachers) and Miss Furner (USA Class Teacher). The staff team hold an astute blend of expertise and work effectively to complement each other. The staff team are supported by many committed Learning Support Assistants.
Year 5 Curriculum
The Year 5 curriculum is concept driven and provides opportunities for all children to acquire the knowledge they need to build on their Year 3 and 4 experiences.
Forest School:
During the year, each class will have the opportunity to explore our Forest School curriculum with Mr Hodgeson. This is based on a half-termly rotation. You can find out when your child's class will be partaking in their sessions below:
Autumn 1 - Costa Rica
Autumn 2 - Jamaica
Spring 1 - USA
Spring 2 - Costa Rica
Summer 1 - Jamaica
Summer 2 - USA
PE and Sports:
Throughout the year your child will be taught PE by both their class teacher and our highly skilled and experienced Sports Coach Mr Holmes. They will complete their PE with Mr Holmes during the half terms they do not partake in Forest school.
Art:
Throughout the year your child will be taught Art by both their class teacher and our professional and extremely creative Artist Teacher Mrs Marta. They will complete their Art with Mrs Marta during the half terms they do not partake in Forest School.

Tuesday
Wednesday - Class PE (school PE kit to be worn in school all day), Library every other week
Thursday
Friday - Forest school (long sleeve tops, full length bottoms and suitable footwear- trainers or wellington boots) or PE Sports Coach and Art.
