Vigo is a large three-form entry primary school where our children and teaching team thrive in a friendly, welcoming and nurturing environment. 

We are proud of our happy and friendly school in which staff, governors, children and parents work hard to provide the best possible start to school life. Our entire school community works to develop our ‘MIRROR’ learning values in our children.  We are proud of how everyone works together as a team to reinforce and implement the aims of our school. 

A school will only achieve its full potential if we all work together as a team. By teaching the importance of the experience of school and supporting our children to value their education and learning, we enable them to establish skills and strategies to become life-long learners. At Vigo, we encourage every child’s sense of self-worth and develop their capacity to live as an independent, self-motivated person who respects and values themselves and all others.

Our curriculum ensures that we teach an engaging, broad and balanced curriculum that is driven by key big questions and concepts like diversity, equality, friendship and democracy. Through our curriculum and our pastoral curriculum, your child will be involved in experiencing school life to the full, developing not only the academic potential of your child but the social and moral sides of their character too.  

We are lucky to have large grounds where our children can play and explore.  We deliver Forest School sessions across the year and even have a school dog, Ralph, who our children can take for a walk.
